![]() ![]() Moz and I will be filling in somewhere along the line and we'll do our level best not to bugger things up. Playing the right records + playing them at the right time + playing them in the optimum order = happy crowd + sore feet + much applause + sweaty dancers! Norman's spot is guaranteed to be a sure fire winner, so give yourselves a treat (you know you deserve it) and pop over to support him and us. He's also an annual guest at The Northern Line because of his winning formula i.e. Our regulars will know Norman well as he's a local lad and a regular attendee. Our special guest this time is stormin' Norman Edwards. Young Ben is one to watch because if he's this good now just wait until he's a few years older and a few quid lighter after getting his hands on even more tunes.remember where you heard him first! ![]() Ben really has stamped his mark on that opening slot, blending classics, forgotten oldies and a few semi-knowns with an ease that I'd expect from someone way, way older. You can also expect a few 'newies' this time around as Maurice is in the States at present hunting down the elusive, the rarer and the just darned good.so let's see what he brings back!Īs usual the opening set is Mr Ben Moses' domain. In between we'll play well chosen (well, hopefully well chosen) 7Ts and R 'n' B tracks with a few semi knowns for good measure. So hopefully there will be a little bit of something for everyone from 6Ts classics and club sounds through to the rarer 45s that really do deserve an airing. We'll do our level best to maintain the policy that John fostered of playing quality across the board tunes. So, it is against this backdrop (no pun intended for the dancers out there) that The Northern Line will, with your support, continue. That being said, Biff would scold us for not giving our very best and he'd be right royally narked if we didn't at least try continue to build on the success that The Northern Line has become (John's wife Bev has already reminded us just what a bollocking he'd give us if we didn't have the backbone to carry on). ![]() This time we're back to our normal night and format (well, as normal as it can be given that John won't be there) and we're not really sure how we'll feel. It was a tough night for everyone, and whilst DJ'ing without John was difficult our task was made slightly more bearable knowing that we were playing records for John, as a tribute to John and in the knowledge that everyone in attendance was there to pay their respects to John. As you may recall the May event was a celebration of the life of our dear friend John 'Biff' Griffiths who sadly passed away in April.
